Paul Berkovitsch (my Grandfather) studied Music (cello)at Leipzig Conservatory 1912-14, St. Petersburg Conservatory & St. Petersburg University(Medicine Faculty)1914-15. In 1921 graduated from Tartu University (Estonia) Medicine Faculty.Concertmaster at Vanemuine Theatre Tartu 1914-26. Virtuoso soloist & played in chamber ensembles & symphony orchestras. Fought in Estonian Liberation Army;was awarded as Freedom fighter. Dean at Lithuanian Conservatory 1949-1975. Died Vilnius 16 Nov 1975.
