|
Elementary school at Raua 16a. 1922-23
The first elementary Jewish school was established in Tallinn in 1880 (One of the founders - Rebekka Feinstein). Hebrew, Russian, German languages and arithmetics were taught.
Later in 1919 an elementary school was established by the Jewish community, were all the required disciplines were taught. It was located in the house of the school teacher Gildebrand at Raua 16a.
Later (in 1923?) the school moved to the small house adjacent to the synagogue at Makri str.
In 1924 the new school building was opened at it's current location at Karu 16 (the Jewish gymnasium building).
